Here is a demo of machine vision software ROBOREALM being used to control a rubber band shooting sentry gun made using VEX robotics kit parts.
The six Robots now have claws added to do useful work. The students learned about control of additional functions on the robot and mechanics of levers combined with gears.

Here is a close up view of one of the robots holding a ball in the claw.

Here is the group of six ready to add some cameras for vision in the next session.
Students now have all 6 robots up and running. This week they added gear to make the robots 4 wheel drive and more maneuverable. They also learned how the radio control works and how to drive using "tank" steering.

Here is a close up of one of the robots showing the gearing arrangement for 4 wheel drive.

Here are the six robots out on the gaming arena.
Rolling Robots was featured at the Boeing take your child to work day events. We had two activities a Robot Challenge where children could learn to navigate an obstacle course and pick up object using our VEX robots. About 600 kids completed the challenge.

To experience a similar robotic challenge take one of our Robot Camps this summer and build a VEX robot yourself! http://rollingrobots.com/activities
The early bird camp is now on. We have six students building robots. Check back each week to see the progress. The photo shows Jacob's robot after the first class session.
