Welcome to Rolling Robots, the only place where you can build, battle and bring a robot home.
Rolling Robots was founded in 2002 by husband and wife team George Kirkman and Bing Jiang, two long-time aerospace engineers, who decided to use their expertise to open their own business. Parents of two, they developed their business model around their three passions: kids, technology, and teaching
They spent a few years researching various subjects, but nothing got kids more excited about technology than robots; so they just rolled with it. Naturally, the name came soon after, and the rest is history.
Today, we’re still defined by our founders’ three passions. Because at Rolling Robots, at the core of our philosophy, is the belief that early exposure to science and technology will give kids more opportunities later in life. We don’t expect every child to become robot engineers, but we know that whatever they do, technology will play a vital role in their lives. So we figure, why not get them excited to learn about it as early as possible?
Everything we offer in our stores – from our merchandise and games to our camps and workshops – is designed to entertain and educate kids of all ages.
Most of our products can be taken off the shelf and built right in the store, using our tools and our assistance at no extra cost. We have robots for kids as young as 5, and we’re happy to teach them everything they want to know about our products.
Everything on our shelves is rigorously tested, once for its entertainment value (by George and Bing’s kids), and again for its educational merit (by George and Bing themselves). If a product fails either test, we won’t carry it.
It’s this simple philosophy that makes us who we are: Learn a little and have a lot of fun doing it.
That’s how we roll.
Our mission is simple: to provide robots for all ages. If you have a passion or fascination for robots, or even if you just think robots are cool, you can come in to one of our stores and find something that makes you happy. We have robots that can talk, robots that can walk, robots that can draw, robots that can crawl or scurry or fly...we've even got robots that can dance.
We also want you to be able to really interact with your toys, so we're glad to let you build any of our robots right in the store in our Robotics Lab -- we'll even provide the tools and help you out if you need it.
Rolling Robots is also home to the world's only robot arena, where you can battle our state of the art Combat Bots in a race for points and prizes.
And of course, our birthday parties are perfect for that engineer-to-be.
