Do you like building things? Ever wondered what makes your toy tick? Do new technologies fascinate you? Dream of being a robotics engineer? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Robot Camp is just for you! Rolling Robots can teach you the basics, from motion and radio control, to making and designing tools. With the right training, our Robot Kits can be fantastic fun, as well as a valuable learning experience. Taking one of our Robotics Camps is a great way to get started in the extraordinary world of robotics. Whatever you're looking for, if it has to do with robots, Rolling Robots is here to serve.

In a series of five laboratory classes you will experience five key elements of robotics: Robot Motion, Radio Control, Telepresence, Tools/Weapons Design and Sensors. Each day starts with a new robotic design challenge. Students learn and work together in small groups to build and optimize a robot to complete the day’s challenge.
Robot Motion: Motors, Wheels and Gears
Learn how your robot uses its motor, wheels and gears, and how these tools create Robotic movement. Students learn about gear ratios and the mechanics of torque and speed.
Radio Control: Ruling Your Robot
Learn how to control your robot. Students review the fundamentals of radio control and will gain a working knowledge of channels and frequencies.
Tools: Make your Robot Work for You
Learn how your robot uses tools and weapons. In this section students will add claws and other gizmos and gadgets to the Robots to pick up items or grab other robots. Here's an example of a weapons system one of our past campers designed.
Telepresence: Next Stop, Mars
Learn how to use your Robot's eyes and ears to experience other worlds. Here, we add cameras to the Robots, allowing students to drive them from another room...or even another world!
Sensors and Autonomous Robots: Give a 'Bot a Brain
Learn how a Robot can interact with its environment. Simple sensors are introduced and taught, allowing students to learn the basics of computer programming -- especially in relation to Robots.
And then the best part...Build your very own Robot to Take Home!
In the last session students will build a robot kit so that they can continue the fun at home.
The robots are assembled using VEX kits. At most, 2 students will share one robot kit. Our instructors guide the students but allow them creative room to make their own unique robots. The sky's the limit for customizing and personalizing your robots. Here's just one example of what your VEX kit could look like.
And parents: the staff to student ratio is no more than 1:6, so every kid gets the help and attention they deserve.
Lab sessions are 3 hours each day. Weekday morning, afternoon and weekend sessions are available. Ages 7 – 13. Maximum 18 students per session. We reserve the right to cancel if less than 6 students register for any one session (Introduction or Advanced)
